Colleen McCarthy is Founder and President of McCarthy Strategies, created in 2011 to design and execute comprehensive development programs for clients in the political and non-profit sectors.  With nearly two decades of experience as a development professional, Colleen McCarthy has a deep knowledge of and wide network within the philanthropic, corporate, non-profit, and government sectors in the U.S. Colleen has also grown a steady base of clients and connections in Puerto Rico and Latin America, working for high-profile individuals and organizations such as The New America Alliance (NAA) and Museo de Arte de Ponce, and with multiple Governors of Puerto Rico from the Pro-Commonwealth and Pro-Statehood parties. Prior to founding McCarthy Strategies, Colleen served as the Finance Director of the Democratic Governors Association (DGA), where she raised over $50 million and developed close ties with Governors and Fortune 100 and 500 companies. Before joining the DGA, Colleen served as the National Finance Director and Senior Advisor for New Mexico’s Governor Bill Richardson’s presidential campaign, overseeing an operation that raised over $24 million in 2007. Colleen is a native of Wisconsin and earned her bachelor’s degree in Political Science at Saint Mary’s College in South Bend, Indiana. She lives in New York City with her 12-year-old son, Davis and dog, Albert.
